On 31st of May, 2018, Dean of Law School, Professor Liu Yanhong was invited to address an academic lecture in East China University of Political Science and Law Changning Campus. This lecture was 9th session of series lecture on Dialogue with Belief: Top Ten Legalists Dialogue with 95’s, hosted by Professor Sun Wanhuai of ECUPSL.
Professor Liu Yan delivered speech on Cyberspace Legal Regulation. Professor Liu started with current social issues to argue that cyberspace needed legal regulation. Professor Liu gradually launched a segmented explanation based on the evolution of network technology. Professor Liu gave humorous and detailed answers to the difficult questions from the audience, and encouraged young students to invest in cybercrime research. Professor Liu pointed out that the abstract idea of the rule of law may not be new in the modern real social space, but its specific penetration into cyberspace would prompt it to spark a new contribution with the emerging technology of the Internet, in addition, many learners were also needed in the cybercrime field.
It is reported that, in order to enhance the learning ability of 95’s young students and expand their academic vision, the Youth League Committee of East China University of Political Science and Law has created a series of academic lecture activities Dialogue with Belief: Top Ten Legalists Dialogue with 95’s. Since the launch of the event on September 17, 2017, a total of eight sessions have been held. The first eight sessions were followed by Professor Chen Xingliang, Professor Sun Xiaoxia, Professor He Qinhua, Professor Yan Jianlin, Professor Liu Junhai, Professor Zhao Bingzhi, Professor Zhang Gu and Professor Ye Qing as the keynote speakers. This series of activities has a positive effect on improving students’ academic enthusiasm and creating future academic talents.
