On September 16, 2018, Professor Zhang Mingkai of law school in Tsinghua University held a lecture at the law school of Southeast University. The topic was“Protection of Property Interests by Criminal Law”. Professor Liu Yanhong, Dean of law school in Southeast University, was the host of this lecture.

First of all, Professor Zhang Mingkai made a reasonable classification of property crimes. Judicial practice in our country regards many crimes as crimes against the whole property. Because the same property faces different people, the value is different. The objective value only indicates the value of exchange, and the use value of different subjects is different. Secondly, Professor Zhang Mingkai analyzed the concept of property, belongings and property interests. The difference between property and property interests is: whether it is a physical object, patents, trade secrets, etc. are not property, but property interests. Property is not always belongings and belongingsis not always property. Third, Professor Zhang Mingwei believes that obtaining property interests does not mean that it constitutes a crime, and the focus is on criminal behavior. Finally, Professor Zhang Mingwei proposed how to determine the transfer of property interests.

In this lecture, professor zhang mingkai deeply analyzed property crimes, which benefited students a lot. The lecture came to a successful conclusion.
