On June 5, 2021, the second Chongqing New Crime Research Center, which was organized by Chongqing New Crime Research Center, hosted by the Law School of Southwest University of Political Science and Law, and co-organized by Chongqing Political and Legal Committee, Chongqing High People's Court, Chongqing People's Procuratorate, Chongqing Public Security Bureau, Chongqing Judicial Bureau, and Chongqing Law Society, was successfully held at Southwest University of Political Science and Law. The 2nd New Crime Governance Forum was successfully held at Southwest University of Political Science and Law. Doctoral students Ruan Chenxin, Zhang Zherui, Tong Yunfeng, Li Ruihua, Wu Shuaihua and Liu Meng from Southeast University Law School were invited to attend the forum and made keynote speeches.

Dr. Yunfeng Tong, a doctoral student of our school, gave a keynote speech on On the Limits of the Criminal Law Regulation of Acts Involving Face Recognition in the Age of Intelligence. Dr. Tong proposed that face recognition technology is neutral and intelligent, and face recognition information belongs to one of the types of citizens' personal information, so the principles of privacy protection, proportionality and consent should be taken as the basic criteria for investigating the legality of face recognition technology operation, and the substantive legal benefit infringement as the specific criteria for screening the criminal illegality of face recognition-related acts.

Dr. Chenxin Ruan, a doctoral student of our institute, gave a keynote speech on The New Construction of Traditional Fraud Interpretation in the Network Era - The Proposal of the Disciplinary Consciousness Necessity of the Norm. Dr. Ruan Chenxin pointed out that the determination of fraud is inseparable from the development of network technology, and the diversity of technology does not neglect the victim's dispositional consciousness, and the normative dispositional consciousness necessity theory, as a new construction of traditional fraud interpretation in the network era, makes the dispositional consciousness match with the degree of awareness and dispositional behavior after the downgrading treatment.

Dr. Shuai-Shuai Wu, a doctoral student of our institute, gave a keynote speech on The New Thinking of the Amendment (XI) to the Criminal Law on the Delineation of the Red Line of Criminal Liability - Taking the Substantive Criminal Law View as the Running Logic. Dr. Wu pointed out that the Amendment (XI) lowered the age of criminal responsibility, and the choice between the crime theory and the offence theory determines the difference in criminal treatment. It should be established that the normative purpose of Article 17 of the Criminal Law is the protection of the rights and interests of minors, and the choice of the method of substantive interpretation should be made in this direction.

Dr. Li Ruihua, a doctoral student of our institute, gave a keynote speech on Empirical Study on the Stepped-up Sentencing of Child Molestation: Article 28 of the Criminal Law Amendment (XI) as a Perspective. Dr. Li Ruihua pointed out that the regression model data showed that the application of sentencing in the crime of child molestation suffers from indeterminate sentencing standards, neglect of objective wrongful acts, and even fictitious sentencing types. The legal benefit of this crime can be defined as the perception of sexual images, under which the general type of aggression and the aggravated type of aggression are divided.

In recent years, our doctoral students and master's students have actively participated in various academic forums, and the keynote speeches have enhanced academic friendship and close academic ties with domestic institutions and research institutes. This is a manifestation of the Law School encouraging graduate students to actively go out to participate in academic exchange activities and enhance the academic influence of Southeast Law.
