On May 24, 2022, 29 master's degree students of criminal law of our institute successfully completed the thesis defense at the Law School of Southeast University (Jiulonghu Campus). In view of the current domestic epidemic situation, the defense of the 29 master's degree students in criminal law adopts a combination of offline and online mode, while reducing the concentration of personnel to implement the epidemic prevention and control policy, making full use of network resources to ensure the smooth progress of the defense and improve the quality and efficiency of the defense.
Professor Cai Daotong of the Law School of Nanjing Normal University served as the chairman of the defense committee, Mr. Li Yan of Tianda Republican Law Firm, Professor Chen Hongbing, Associate Professor Liu Jianli and Associate Professor Ji Yang of the Law School of Southeast University served as members of the defense committee, Wang Weiwei served as the defense secretary, and the students of the Law School of Criminal Law actively participated in the audit.
The defense committee of the criminal prosecution team was chaired by Professor Qin Zongwen of the Law School of Nanjing University, Judge Deng Ling of the Nanjing Intermediate People's Court, Professor Li Chuan, Associate Professor Qian Xiaoping, and Associate Professor Liang Yunbao of the Law School of Southeast University served as members of the defense committee, Dong Guozhen served as the defense secretary, and students from the Law School of Criminal Prosecution and Criminology actively participated in the audit.
As always, the defense team strictly followed the requirements of normative documents such as the Measures for the Management of the Whole Process of The Quality of Graduate Dissertations of Southeast University Law School and the Work Measures of the Quality Steering Group for Graduate Dissertations of Southeast University Law School, and defended the dissertations of 29 master's students. The defense began at 9:00 a.m. on May 24 and lasted until around 3:00 p.m. In the defense, the students introduced the main contents, core hanging points and innovations of their respective papers in detail. On this basis, the teachers of the defense team gave targeted questions, questions and comments based on the theoretical and practical issues involved in the papers and statements of the defending students. Finally, the students answered the teachers' questions one by one in detail and expressed their sincere thanks to the defending teachers.
The defense work was well organized, the procedures were standardized, and the order was orderly. In the defense, the students who participated in the defense offline and online were fully prepared, and the core views and innovative points of the debate were expounded smoothly and prominently, which fully reflected the good knowledge reserve and professional quality of the students of our college. For the amendments proposed by the defense team, the defending students can accept them with an open mind, record and revise them immediately, showing the positive and upward mental outlook of the students of The Eastern University.
