The 8th Big Data and Internet Law Youth Academic Salon was successfully held

On the afternoon of November 23, 2022, the 8th Big Data and Internet Law Youth Academic Salon was successfully held in the conference room of Legal Big Data and Artificial Intelligence Laboratory of Southeast University College of Law. The salon was hosted by Associate Professor Yang Jie, and Professor Wang Lusheng, Director of Social Science Division, Associate Professor Ren Danli, Associate Professor Chen Daoying, Associate Researcher Xu Minchuan, Teacher Yu Tao and students from the Judicial Big Data Base of the Law School participated in this event.

Sun Yu, a 22-year PhD student, firstly shared his results on the topic of On the algorithmic rule of algorithmic personalized pricing. The report introduced the causes of algorithmic personalized pricing, the technical logic of algorithmic personalized pricing, the regulatory dilemma, and the regulatory path, etc. Wang Shuang, a 20-year PhD student, and Gong Shanzhao, a 19-year PhD student, participated in the review of the article and affirmed the active exploration of data-algorithm-pricing from the perspective of algorithms. The guest lecturers discussed issues related to personalized recommendation and personalized pricing, the relationship between personalized pricing and price monopoly, price discrimination, etc.

Chen Jingyi, a master's degree student of Class 20, started her presentation on the validity of mandatory provisions of construction contracts, and shared her views on the current state of judicial practice in determining the validity of the provisions of construction contracts, the application of mandatory standards to mandatory provisions, and the validity of mandatory provisions. Li Yafang and Ren Danli, associate professors of the class of 20 master students, participated in the discussion of the report. The lecturers exchanged views on the application of mandatory standards in public law and its validity judgment, and the role of proportionality principle in validity determination.

Finally, Prof. Wang Lusheng summarized the salon, affirming the profound thinking and writing power of the two students, and affirming the two different styles of papers, emphasizing the core value of problem awareness for academic articles, and calling on the base students to participate more actively in the academic salon activities.
