On the afternoon of May 12th, Professor Huang Mingtao, Vice Dean of the Law School of Wuhan University and Editor of the Law Review, successfully held an exchange meeting with the Editorial Department of Southeast Law in Room 516 of the Law School. The conference was chaired by Professor Ouyang Benqi, the editor in chief of Southeast Law, and the two sides had in-depth exchanges and discussions on topics such as journal development strategies, standards for writing and publishing legal papers, academic evaluation mechanisms, and current hotspots in legal research.
At the beginning of the exchange, Chief Editor Ouyang Benqi first introduced the growth process of "Southeast Law". Southeast Law is currently a CSSCI source journal, publishing two volumes annually. Professor Liu Yanhong serves as the chairman of the editorial board, and 10 professors including Chen Ruihua, Chen Baifeng, and Peng Chengxin serve as members of the editorial board. In recent years, the academic influence of publications has gradually increased. According to the "2024 China National Knowledge Infrastructure Annual High Impact Academic Journal" statistics, "Southeast Law" ranks fourth in the country among legal journals. He emphasized the characteristics and advantages of the journal Southeast Law. He stated that Southeast Law is a publication that focuses on cultivating young scholars and paying attention to interdisciplinary papers.
Subsequently, Professor Huang Mingtao expressed sincere gratitude to the editorial department of Southeast Law for their warm reception, and systematically introduced the development and characteristics of Law Review. He pointed out that as one of the important academic journals in the domestic legal field, Law Review has always adhered to the publishing philosophy of theoretical, original, and forward-looking, and has been committed to promoting the prosperity and development of China's legal academic system. Regarding the issues of paper writing and publication, Professor Huang provided a detailed explanation of key writing points such as topic selection, structural construction, citation standards, and logical reasoning. Combined with the daily review practice of the editorial department, he introduced the submission process, common problems, and handling strategies. He also emphasized that academic papers should focus on the unity of problem awareness and normative awareness, not only closely following the hot topics of legal research, but also reflecting academic originality and theoretical depth.
During the interactive communication session, young teachers from the editorial department of Southeast Law engaged in lively discussions with Professor Huang Mingtao on how to enhance academic expression ability, plan topic selection, and carry out journal evaluation and reform. The attending editors express their sincere gratitude to Professor Huang for his in-depth, professional, constructive, and inspiring sharing.
Finally, Professor Ouyang Benqi summarized this exchange. He stated that this exchange meeting not only enhanced mutual understanding and trust between the two editorial departments, but also provided valuable experience for improving the academic quality and service capabilities of Southeast Law.
