On March 13, 2024, the School of Law of Southeast University and the People's Court of Jiangning District, Nanjing carried out a symposium on cooperation and exchange in engineering law. Professor Ouyang Benqi, Dean of the School of Law, Associate Professor Gao Ge, Director of the Center for Practical Education of the School of Law, Associate Professor Hang Renchun, Graduate Supervisor of the Engineering Law Teaching and Research Department of the School of Law, Mr. Xing Chenxi and Mr. Zhang Yunhao, Member of the Party Group of the People's Court of Jiangning District, Full-time Member of the Trial Committee Lv Runjin, Head of Real Estate Trial Division of the People's Court of Jiangning District, Li Qing, Vice President Han Wentao, took part in the activity.

Dean Ouyang Benqi expressed his warm welcome to the arrival of Commissioner Lv Runjin and his entourage, and introduced the construction of engineering law disciplines and institutional cooperation of Southeast University School of Law. He said that the School of Law of Southeast University centers on the schooling idea of cross, team and practical, and explores the new mode of legal education and talent cultivation under the guidance of Law + as the main development idea. The engineering law discipline is based on three platforms: one institute (Engineering Law Research Institute), one society (Jiangsu Engineering Law Society) and one center (PPP Center), which drives the cultivation of engineering law talents and scientific research nationwide and enjoys a wide social reputation. President Ouyang is looking forward to cooperating with Jiangning District People's Court in practice teaching, talent training, theoretical research, etc., so as to realize resource sharing, mutual benefit and win-win situation, and to create a new situation of influential cooperation between universities and colleges.

Commissioner Lv Yunjin expressed his appreciation for the outstanding achievements of Southeast University School of Law in the field of engineering law, and shared the results achieved by Jiangning District People's Court in recent years in terms of case handling and practical innovation. He mentioned that the Real Estate Trial Division of Jiangning District People's Court handles a huge number of cases every year and involves many new and difficult issues, while the Engineering Law discipline of Southeast University School of Law possesses many cross-field talent resources, and the cooperation between the two sides will help to enhance the level of combining theory and practice, and to optimize the quality and efficiency of case handling. Commissioner Lv said that he looked forward to in-depth cooperation with the Law School in the handling of new and difficult cases, research on typical cases, etc., and jointly promote the integration and development of theoretical research and practical innovation. Meanwhile, in terms of talent cultivation, it will explore new and flexible cooperative cultivation modes and contribute to the cultivation of talents of both institution and school.

During the symposium, the participants had an in-depth discussion on the specific content of cooperation. Associate Professor Gao Ge, President Li Qing, Vice President Han Wentao, Associate Professor Hang Renchun, Mr. Xing Chenxi, Mr. Zhang Yunhao and other participants put forward valuable opinions and suggestions on various aspects such as practical teaching, talent cultivation and subject research. They all agreed that by integrating the resources of both sides and giving full play to their respective advantages, they could carry out wider and deeper cooperation in the field of engineering law and jointly promote the development and progress of engineering law discipline.

The convening of this symposium not only strengthens the communication and cooperation between the Law School of Southeast University and the People's Court of Jiangning District, but also lays a solid foundation for the in-depth cooperation between the two sides in the field of engineering law. In the future, both parties will work together to create a new chapter of cooperation in engineering law and contribute wisdom and strength to the construction of the rule of law and social progress.
