As a flagship volunteer initiative of Southeast University Law School that embodies the "Wenrui Education" philosophy and bridges legal theory with practice, the "Jiangsu University Student Legal Aid Court Guidance Volunteer Program" provided an invaluable platform for law students in the previous academic year, achieving remarkable practical results. With the school's steadfast support and the active participation of student volunteers, the 2025 Fall Semester edition of this program was officially launched in late September. Organized by Jiangsu Heng'ai Legal Aid and Research Center, the program operates in five courts: Nanjing Yuhuatai People's Court, Nanjing Jianye People's Court, Nanjing Qinhuai People's Court, Nanjing Xuanwu People's Court, and Nanjing Intermediate People's Court. It aims to encourage law students to integrate knowledge with action through hands-on experience while delivering tangible services to the public, ensuring that people perceive fairness and justice in every judicial case.

The court guidance system is a public-friendly service mechanism introduced by courts at all levels to facilitate public access to litigation procedures. During the processes of case filing, trial, and execution, court guides provide comprehensive assistance to parties in need by offering reasonable litigation guidance, interpreting relevant laws, informing them of judicial aid provisions, and highlighting potential litigation risks. This one-stop service ensures that parties receive procedural direction and legal support, empowering them to properly exercise their litigation rights.

The court guidance initiative has been successfully implemented for four weeks this semester, achieving notable outcomes. During this period, volunteers have provided specialized services to visitors, including case information inquiries, procedural consultations, guidance on accessing case files, and explanations on the use of various online case handling platforms. Additionally, the guidance desk has been equipped with convenience items such as reading glasses, writing tools, and drinking water, creating a welcoming and accessible litigation environment. By immersing themselves in frontline services and applying their academic knowledge to practice, the volunteers have effectively bridged the gap between legal theory and judicial work. Their dedication exemplifies the spirit of serving the people and contributing to society in the new era, earning widespread praise from service recipients.
The Court Guidance Volunteer Initiative is a long-term program organized by the Southeast University Legal Aid Center. Adhering to the school's "Cultivating Talent with Warmth and Acumen" ethos, the Southeast University School of Law will continue to encourage students to actively participate, guiding them to reflect through practice and learn through service. This allows them to genuinely experience the warmth and precision of the law while developing a sense of purpose and responsibility, empowering them to shoulder the social duties of youth in the new era and uphold the fairness and justice of the legal system. The Southeast University Legal Aid Center will also persist in advancing various legal aid activities, contributing to the cause of legal assistance and, in turn, dedicating more of Southeast University's strength to society.
