Professor Zhou Youyong was selected to the list of the philosophy and Social Sciences leading talents of the famous “four group” talents in 2014

To implement the strategy of reinvigorating China through human resources and improve the ability to construct socialist advanced culture, General Office of the Central Propaganda Department and General Office of the Central Organization Department issued “Notice on the work of the selection and recommendation of the philosophy and Social Sciences leading talents of the famous ‘four group’ talents and the ‘ten thousand person plan’ in 2014”. On the basis of recommendation by relevant departments, Central Propaganda Department announced the list of 362 finalists of the philosophy and Social Sciences leading talents of the famous “four group” talents, which included Professor Zhou Youyong of law school.

Professor Zhou Youyong is committed to the research of administrative law. As the leading expert in the administrative law, he takes on more than thirty projects, including National Social Science Fund Projects and projects of the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Justice, Jiangsu Province, etc. Professor Zhou has published over 200 papers on core journals and 30 books. He also won the title of “New Century Excellent Talents” in 2004, “New Century Talents Project” in 2009, “Ten Outstanding Young Jurists” in 2010, Young Leading Scientists in the program of “333 High-level Personnel Training Project” in Jiangsu Province, “Middle-aged Expert with Outstanding Contribution to Jiangsu Province”, “Five Groups” Talents in Jiangsu Province, Chair Professor of “Cheung Kong Scholars” Programme and so on.

Meanwhile, Professor Zhou Youyong serves as Director of China Law Society, vice-president of Jiangsu’s Law Society, vice-president of Chinese Administrative Law Enforcement Research Association, director of Engineering Law Research Association in Jiangsu Province, director of Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan Law Research Association in Jiangsu Province, counselor of Jiangsu government and so on. Professor Zhou focuses on the research on administrative omission, the basic principles of administrative law and the management and standards of administrative discretion. He actively participates in working on judicial system reform and legal publicity in our country, which made a broad effect on academia and society, as well as a significant contribution to the development of research about administrative law in China.
