Shan Pingji, Director of the Civil Prosecution Research Base of Southeast University, was Invited to Give a Lecture on the Civil Code for the Jiangsu Procuratorial System

In order to promote the study, publicity and implementation of the Civil Code, on the morning of August 7, 2020, Associate Professor Shan Pingji, Director of the Civil Prosecution Research Base of Southeast University, Associate Dean of the School of Law, and Ph.D. Supervisor, was invited to give a lecture on the Civil Code of the Prosecution System of Jiangsu Province . The topic of this lecture was The development and understanding and application of the rules of the General Rules of the Civil Code Contract Compilation. The lecture was presided over by Lu Jun, Director of the Sixth Procuratorate of the Jiangsu Provincial People's Procuratorate, Jiangsu Provincial People's Procuratorate, and the province's municipal and district (county) people's procuratorates More than 800 comrades from the civil prosecution department participated in the event through online and offline methods.

In this lecture, Shan Pingji mainly explained the changes in the rules of the various chapters of the General Rules of Contract Compilation in the Civil Code and their application in civil procuratorial work. Based on the legislative model that the Civil Code sets up a contract part rather than a creditor’s rights part, based on the interpretation of the scope of application of the contract part rules, combined with the legal principles behind the changes in the rules, it focuses on the interpretation of some highlights, and strengthens the procuratorial agency’s understanding of contracts Comprehension of rules.

The whole lecture lasted two and a half hours. Through this lecture, the audience would be more clear about the overall context of the changes in contract compilation rules, which is conducive to the correct application of relevant rules in judicial practice. Studying and applying the civil code in civil prosecution work will help improve the level of supervision of judicial activities, achieve precise supervision of civil and commercial cases, and better protect the legitimate rights and interests of citizens, legal persons, and unincorporated organizations.

Studying and propagating the Civil Code is an important task of the entire society. The mutual exchange between scholars and practitioners is an effective measure to promote the study of the Civil Code. This lecture reflects the importance of the Civil Prosecution Research Base of Southeast University on the publicity of the Civil Code and is conducive to the implementation of the Civil Code.
