On October 14, 2023, the opening meeting of the 2023 annual project of the National Social Science Foundation was held in the conference room on the ninth floor of Qunxian Building, Sipailou Campus. The meeting was presided over by Prof. Liu Qichuan, Secretary of the Party Committee of the Law School of Southeast University, and Han Zhenlong, Deputy Director of the Justice Department of Jiangsu Province, Prof. Peng Yue, Dean of the Law School of Nanjing University, Li Yong, Director of the Legal Policy Research Office of the Nanjing Municipal People's Procuratorate, You Yugen, Deputy Director of the Legal Compliance Department of State Grid Jiangsu Electric Power Company, Prof. Wang Taigao of the Law School of Nanjing University, and Associate Prof. Liu Wenkai of the Law School of Nanjing Auditing University came to the meeting as the reviewing experts. Dr. Liu Wenkai, Associate Professor of Law School of Nanjing Audit University, also attended the meeting.
This year, Southeast University School of Law has been awarded seven annual projects of 2023 National Social Science Foundation, which are: Professor Xiong Zhanglin's key project Research on the Construction of Corporate Administrative Compliance System Suitable for Our Country, Associate Professor Chen Daoying's general project Iterative Research on China's Fundamental Rights System in the Era of Digital Intelligence, Associate Professor Li Yuxing's general project Research on Rule-of-Law Paths of Cooperative Administration in Metropolitan Areas, Associate Professor Lu Lu's general project Study on Rule-of-Law Practices under Foreign-related Rule of Law. General Project: Study on the Dynamic Optimization of the Implementation Mechanism of the Blocking Law under Foreign Rule of Law Practice; General Project: Study on the Legal Protection of the Right to Social Assistance in the Context of Digital Governance by Associate Professor Zhang Xuelian; Youth Project: Study on the Hierarchical Construction of the Rights and Interests of Public Data and its Rational Utilization by Teacher Zhang Yunhao; and Youth Project: Study on the Substantive-Procedural Interface Mechanism of the Response to the Disputes Related to the Foreign Countries on the Standard-Essential Patents by Teacher Liu Yifan.
After listening to the opening reports of each project, the reviewing experts fully affirmed the research value of each project, and gave pertinent suggestions on the research ideas, key problems and difficulties, and the direction to be worked on. Mr. Han Zhenlong, deputy director of the department, said that each project embodies the characteristics of theoretical research in colleges and universities to meet the needs of the rule of law in accordance with the rule of law, and that in order to make the theoretical research more closely integrated with the practice, it is necessary to bring in more cases and data to support it. Prof. Peng Yue pointed out the doubts in the research design of some teachers and reminded them to pay attention to the international impact of the research results. Prof. Wang Taigao congratulated the teachers on their projects and answered the existing questions raised by the teachers in their research reports. From the perspective of enterprises, Director You Yugen raised the earnest expectation for the early application of the research results on enterprise compliance and the provision of incentives for enterprises to carry out production and construction. Director Li Yong, from the perspective of national planning, said that the topics selected by the teachers are of great practical significance, and that they should be confident in their topics in the face of the new policies and requirements of the country. Associate Professor Liu Wenkai gave notes on the requirements for project completion, reminding the teachers to pay attention to the preservation of materials at all stages and the requirements for checking the results.
Finally, Prof. Liu Qichuan, Secretary of the Party Committee, expressed his thanks to the experts for their wonderful comments, and hoped that all the teachers would digest and absorb the experts' opinions, and make high-quality research results as soon as possible according to the existing research plan, so as to serve the national strategy and decision-making deployment.
