In the afternoon of October 31, according to the arrangement of the Organization Department of the school, the new party secretary of the Law School will be sent to the post in the fourth floor conference room of the Law School. Comrade Wu Gang, member of the Standing Committee of the Party Committee of the University and Vice President of the University, Comrade Li Tinghong, Deputy Minister of the Organization Department of the Party Committee of the University, and Comrade Mao Huixi, former Secretary of the Party Committee of the Law School, attended the meeting. Comrade Ouyang Benqi, Dean of the School of Law, presided over the meeting, and all the members of the leadership team as well as the directors of faculties and research departments, branch secretaries and teachers' representatives attended the meeting.

Comrade Li Tinghong, Deputy Director of the Organization Department of the Party Committee of the University, read out the appointment document, appointing Comrade Liu Qichuan as the Secretary of the Party Committee of the Law School.

On behalf of the School, Comrade Ouyang Benqi expressed his firm support for the School's decision to appoint the new Party Secretary, and from the perspective of the overall development of the School of Law, he indicated that in the future work, he would work with Secretary Liu Qichuan to ensure the stable and prosperous development of the School of Law under the guidance of the policy of Academic Supremacy, Student First, Teacher as the Foundation. The Law School will continue to develop in a stable and prosperous manner.

Comrade Mao Huixi thanked the school leaders and departments for their concern and support for the development of the Law School, highly praised the excellent achievements made by Comrade Liu Qichuan after he assumed the management of the School, and expressed on behalf of the comrades of the Association that they would actively cooperate with the School in all aspects of work. Other members of the leadership team and representatives of teachers also expressed their support for the appointment of the new Party Secretary of the Law School, and unanimously affirmed the ability and level of Comrade Liu Qichuan in teaching and research, student work, administration and other aspects.

Subsequently, Comrade Liu Qichuan made a three-point statement, first of all, thank the organization for cultivating and trusting, and thank all the teachers of the college for their care and support. Secondly, not forgetting the original intention, bearing in mind the entrustment, practicing the mission of making people moral, Wenrui educating people, and serving the teachers and students of the law school with all our strength. Finally, we will be innovative and enterprising, and we will do our best to cooperate with Dean Ouyang Benqi to carry out all the work of the College, and to promote the better and faster development of the legal education of the College of Law.

Finally, on behalf of the university, Vice President Wu Gang put forward three expectations for the new party secretary and the new leadership team of the Law School: first, raise the political status, study and implement Xi Jinping's thought on the rule of law, and enrich the strength for the construction of quality liberal arts for Southeast University; second, take the initiative to take the role of acting with a high sense of responsibility to carry out the work, take the initiative in planning, and promote the spirit of struggle; third, lead the team of the Law School well.
