On November 18-19, 2023, the General Meeting of the Administrative Law Research Society of the China Law Society and the Annual Meeting of 2023 were successfully held in Guangzhou. With the theme of Innovative Development of Administrative Law and Administrative Rule of Law in the New Era, the conference was organized by the Administrative Law Research Society of the China Law Society and hosted by Guangdong University of Foreign Studies (GDUFS). Experts and scholars from Peking University, Tsinghua University, China University of Political Science and Law, Party School of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China (National School of Administration), Shanghai Jiao Tong University, Wuhan University, Renmin University of China, Southeast University, Zhongnan University of Economics and Law, East China University of Political Science and Law, Guangdong University of Foreign Studies and other colleges and scientific research institutes participated in the conference. Professor Meng Hongzhi, Professor Yang Dengfeng, Professor Xiong Zhanglin, Professor Liu Qichuan, Associate Professor Li Yuxing, Lecturer Zhang Yunhao, Dr. Zhu Zheng, Dr. Liu Yangyang, Dr. Du Zhonghao, Master Sun Kunpeng and other faculty members and students of the College were invited to attend the conference.

In the First Meeting of the Ninth Council of Administrative Law Research Society of China Law Society, Prof. Meng Hongzhi was elected as the executive director of Administrative Law Research Society of China Law Society; Prof. Yang Dengfeng, Prof. Xiong Zhanglin, Prof. Liu Qichuan, and Associate Prof. Li Yuxing were elected as the directors of Administrative Law Research Society of China Law Society. In the sub-forum exchanges, Prof. Meng Hongzhi acted as a commentator in sub-forum (I) Basic Theory of Administrative Law in the Context of Governance Change; Prof. Yang Dengfeng and Prof. Liu Qichuan acted as commentators in sub-forum (III) Substantive Resolution of Administrative Disputes, Public Interest Litigation and Administrative Prosecution. Prof. Yang Dengfeng and Prof. Liu Qichuan acted as commentators in Sub-forum III Substantive Resolution of Administrative Disputes, Public Interest Litigation and Administrative Prosecution; Prof. Xiong Zhanglin acted as a commentator in Sub-forum V Rule of Law Business Environment and Administrative Law Enforcement. In the session of Award Ceremony of Ying Songnian Administrative Law Scholarship, our graduates Dr. Lu Haibo, Dr. Zhu Zheng, and Master Sun Kunpeng were awarded the 11th Ying Songnian Administrative Law Scholarship.

The comments and speeches of Prof. Meng Hongzhi, Prof. Yang Dengfeng, Prof. Xiong Zhanglin, and Prof. Liu Qichuan of our institute received unanimous favorable comments from the participants, and at the same time, they shared the theoretical research results and experience of governance with their colleagues in administrative law. This fully demonstrated the research level and strength of the administrative law discipline of our institute, and enhanced the influence of our administrative law teaching and research team in the academic community.
