On November 18, 2023, the Guangdong Alumni Association of Southeast University School of Law and the inaugural meeting of Guangdong Alumni Association were held in Guangzhou. Nearly 20 alumni of the School of Law working in Guangdong attended the fellowship activity and the inaugural meeting of the Alumni Association. Prof. Liu Qichuan, Secretary of the Party Committee of the School of Law, Prof. Xiong Zhanglin, Vice Dean of the School of Law, Prof. Meng Hongzhi, Prof. Yang Dengfeng, Mr. Zhang Yunhao and other faculty members and students of the School of Law attended the meeting.

On behalf of the College, Mr. Liu Qichuan expressed his warm congratulations and heartfelt blessings to the establishment of the Law Branch of Guangdong Alumni Association of Southeast University, and briefly introduced the Law School in recent years in terms of disciplinary construction, school running achievements, social influence and so on. He pointed out that it is an important work of the College to strengthen the contact with alumni and promote the interaction between the College and alumni. Guangdong Alumni Law Branch of Southeast University is the second alumni law branch established by Southeast University School of Law outside the province except for Shanghai, and he hoped that Guangdong Alumni Law Branch would unite the alumni, liaise with alumni feelings, enhance the cohesion of alumni, expand the influence of the College, pay attention to and support the development of the School of Law, and promote the development of the College of Law. I hope that the Guangdong Alumni Association Law Branch will unite the alumni, enhance alumni cohesion, expand the influence of the College, pay attention to and support the development of the College of Law, and promote the College to continuously improve the comprehensive strength of school running. Southeast University School of Law will continue to care about the further development of Guangdong alumni, and we believe that Guangdong Alumni Law Branch will become a big family of alumni of the School of Law with solidarity, unity and love.

Mr. Xiong Zhanglin, Vice Dean of the School of Law, congratulated the Guangdong Alumni Association on its formal establishment, and stated on behalf of the School that he would actively provide policy support for the development and growth of the Guangdong Alumni Association, and further strengthen the cooperation with the Guangdong Alumni Association to promote the scientific research achievements of the School of Law of Southeast University to be implemented in Guangdong, and to contribute to the construction of the rule of law in Guangdong.

The attending alumni fondly recalled the unforgettable time spent in the Law School, expressed their attachment and gratitude to the Law School, and felt proud and honored for the law people of Southeast University. The alumni unanimously expressed that they would make full use of the platform of the Alumni Association to help each other, enhance friendship, strengthen the connection with the School of Law, care about and support the construction of the School, and contribute to the development of the School by giving advice and suggestions. The meeting elected Prof. Chen Youwu as the president of Guangdong Alumni Association of Southeast University Law School. Mr. Li Qiang, Director of the Management Committee of Guangdong Zhengda Union Law Firm, and Mr. Liang Jiewen, General Manager of Dongguan Huangjia Shengxiong Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine, were elected as Vice Presidents of Guangdong Alumni Association of Southeast University School of Law. Alumni Yuan Yanqun was elected as the Secretary General of Guangdong Alumni Association of Southeast University School of Law, and Ye Jianxiao, Deputy Director of Guangdong Baijian Law Firm, was elected as the Supervisor and Secretary General of Guangdong Alumni Association. After the establishment ceremony, all the participating alumni took a group photo.
