On November 24, 2023, the 2023 Annual Meeting of Digital Law Research Society of Jiangsu Law Society and the Seventh Seminar on Research and Application of Judicial Big Data, which was hosted by the Digital Law Research Society of Jiangsu Law Society, and organized by the Law School of Southeast University and the Judicial Big Data Research Base of the People's Courts, was successfully held in Nanjing. Leaders and experts from Jiangsu Higher People's Court, Jiangsu Provincial People's Procuratorate, Jiangsu Provincial Department of Justice, as well as practical departments of the province and cities, and scholars from universities and colleges, such as Nanjing University, Southeast University, Zhejiang University, Nanjing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics, Nanjing University of Science and Technology, Nanjing Agricultural University, Soochow University, and Nanjing University of Information Technology, etc., more than 200 people participated in the meeting.

Wu Gang, standing committee member of the Party committee and executive vice president of Southeast University, introduced in his speech that the Law School of Southeast University has achieved outstanding scientific research results in recent years, and its core competitiveness has continued to rise, and its talent training system has become more complete, with outstanding advantages in cross-discipline integration, and it has become one of the most important bases for the cultivation of legal talents in China. In the future, the school will continue to vigorously promote the construction of the discipline of law, support the theoretical research of legal big data and artificial intelligence, and continuously deepen the high-end research of the rule of law and the cultivation of complex talents.

Comrade Zhang Guoqing, member of the party committee and deputy editor-in-chief of Legal Daily, said in his speech that the modernization of the national governance system and governance capacity cannot be achieved without the construction of the intelligent rule of law. Jiangsu Law Society Big Data and Artificial Intelligence Law Research Society was approved by the Provincial Law Society in June 2023, officially renamed as the Digital Law Research Society, and became the first officially established provincial digital law research society in China. The opening ceremony was held to change the name of the research society.
