In order to deeply implement Xi Jinping's thought on the rule of law and the spirit of the Opinions on Strengthening Legal Education and Legal Theory Research in the New Era of the CPC Central Committee and the State Council, on the afternoon of November 24th, 2023, a group of five persons, including Prof. Ouyang Benqi, Dean of the College, Prof. Liu Qichuan, Secretary of the Party Committee, Prof. Xiong Zhanglin, Vice Dean, Prof. Shan Pingji, Vice Dean, and Ms. Dong Guozhen, Director of the Office of Party and Government, visited and researched in School of Law of Renmin University of China to visit and study, exchange and learn from the experience and initiatives in the construction of law disciplines and cultivation of legal talents.

Prof. Huang Wenyi, Dean of the Law School of Renmin University of China, and Prof. Du Huanfang, Secretary of the Party Committee, led the relevant personnel of the School to give a warm reception. The research meeting was held in Conference Room 205, Mingde Building, NPC School of Law, chaired by Prof. Nano Zhang, Vice Dean of Renmin University of China School of Law.

First of all, Secretary Du Huanfang expressed his warm welcome to the visiting guests and introduced the basic situation of the School of Law of Renmin University of China. Dean Huang Wenyi introduced the thinking and exploration of the School of Law of Renmin University of China in the implementation of the fifth document of the Central Government, and shared the blueprint of the Ten Major Projects of the School of Law of Renmin University of China.

Afterwards, Vice Dean Zhang Yan, Mr. Lu Lei, Director of the Office of the School of Law of Renmin University of China, Mr. Chen Lei, Chief of Academic Affairs of the School of Law, Mr. Li Jun, Head of the Foreign Affairs Office of the School of Law, Mr. Ren Jianing, Deputy Director of the Office of the School of Law, and Mr. Li Ting, Director of the Office of Development Planning and Scientific Research of the School of Law, respectively, shared their thoughts and explorations on how to adjust and cope with the discipline of law under the context of the new legal science and the digital era? How to strengthen research management and service to enhance the level of research? How to build a high-level faculty? How to improve the quality of graduate and undergraduate training? How to promote the cooperation between government, industry, academia and research? How to deepen international exchanges and other issues were exchanged. Both sides proceeded in an intense and cordial atmosphere.

Next, Dean Ouyang and Secretary Liu Qichuan expressed their sincere thanks to Dean Huang Wenyi, Secretary Du Huanfang and teachers of NPC Law School! The two leaders agreed that this research was very beneficial and worthwhile. The School of Law of Southeast University will take the opportunity of this research and study to deeply study and implement the spirit of General Secretary Xi Jinping's important speech during his visit to Renmin University of China, based on the new stage of development, implementing the new development concept, facing the needs of the country's major strategies, serving the practice of ruling the country according to law in a comprehensive manner, combining with its own characteristics of cross-cutting, teamwork, and practical, and accelerating the construction of China's law training model, as well as the establishment of the Chinese law school. Combined with its own cross-cutting, team-oriented and practice-oriented mode of talent cultivation, the university has accelerated the construction of an independent knowledge system of Chinese law. It will further promote the construction of the discipline system, academic system and discourse system of jurisprudence with Chinese characteristics, era characteristics and practice characteristics, innovate the system and mechanism of talent cultivation, optimize the path of talent cultivation, cultivate the rule of law talents who are both virtuous and lawful and have global vision and international competitiveness, and build the peak of jurisprudence research and rule of law talent cultivation, so as to strive for the construction of a new way of jurisprudence with Chinese characteristics and world-class jurisprudence disciplines.
