The moon is on its fifteenth night, and it is the time for the New Year's Eve. The Lantern Festival is a night of reunion. At the beginning of the new semester, the strong taste of the New Year has not yet dissipated, and we will soon usher in the Lantern Festival. In order to carry forward the traditional culture of the Chinese nation, further thicken the cultural atmosphere of the festival, and strengthen the humanistic care for our students, under the care and guidance of the Party Committee of the College, our academic staff team has prepared wonderful theme activities for teachers and students, inviting everyone to celebrate the festival and share the reunion!



The word Lantern Festival is rich in cultural connotations. The word yuan represents the beginning, signifying the renewal and recovery of all things; the word night refers to the night, symbolising the city of lights and bustling night. On the fifteenth day of the first month, the bright moon and bright lights reflect each other, overflowing with a cheerful and peaceful atmosphere, the streets and alleys are decorated with lanterns, people enjoy lanterns, eat dumplings, riddles, fireworks, lion dances, stilt walkers ...... a mouthful of dumplings reunion year after year, a lanterns year after year, the celebrations from the New Year's Eve began to continue to a climax! It has become a custom that has been passed down from generation to generation.

Lantern riddles is a unique form of entertainment in our country, which is rich in national style, not only interesting, but also able to inspire wisdom. The riddles are hung in the lamps for teachers and students to guess. We are looking forward to seeing you all show your skills and talents, and deeply understand the charm of the excellent traditional Chinese culture and the unique wisdom of the Chinese people.

Activity time: 23 February, 12:30-14:00 pm

II. Lanterns and lanterns, celebrating the Lantern Festival.

Lanterns for Lantern Festival

Lanterns are also known as lanterns. The custom of viewing lanterns at the Lantern Festival first originated in the early years of the Han Dynasty. Enjoying lanterns at the Lantern Festival means good luck and happiness.

This activity is carried out online. Teachers and students can submit photos of their hand-painted or made lanterns, or photos of beautiful lanterns taken during the festival to submit to dndxfxytw@163.com, and the staff will choose the best ones to display after the deadline of the submission. Teachers and students will have the opportunity to enjoy the new and unique lanterns, experience the traditional skills, feel the strong New Year's flavour and the good meaning of the lanterns, which is to drive away demons and bring down blessings, and to pray for light.

III. Good time together, pray together in the Lantern Festival

Write a Lantern Festival Prayer Poster Activity

In order to carry forward the excellent traditional culture of the Chinese nation and create a joyful and peaceful atmosphere of the Lantern Festival, we carried out the activity of writing Lantern Prayer Stickers. Teachers and students can write down their wishes for the new year on the prayer paper, which means that the coming year will be safe and smooth, and all things will be satisfactory. The dragon's head is lifted, the dragon's tail is swung, the dragon's body is entrenched in the four directions of wealth; the dragon's scales are flashing, the dragon's step is taken, the dragon's breath is wrapped around the auspicious clouds.
