At 8:30 a.m. on May 16, the thesis defense of 19 master's degree students of Criminal Law Group of Class 2021 of Southeast University School of Law was held in the conference room on the 5th floor of the Jiulong Lake Campus of Southeast University. The defense was divided into two groups. The first defense committee was composed of: Xu Chang, Vice Dean of the Law School of Nanjing Audit University as the chairman of the defense committee, Yang Dong, partner of Jiangsu Sanlaw Law Firm, Prof. Ouyang Benqi, Prof. Li Chuan, and Associate Prof. Yang Zhiqiong of the Law School of Southeast University as members of the defense committee, and Ms. Dong Guozhen as the secretary of the defense committee; the second defense committee was composed of: Prof. Cai Daotong of the Law School of Nanjing Normal University as the chairman of the defense committee, Jiangsu Xincao's lawyer as the chairman of the defense committee and Jiangsu Xincao's lawyer as the secretary of the defense committee. The second defense committee is composed of Prof. Cai Daotong of Law School of Nanjing Normal University as the chairman of the defense committee, Chen Jia, partner of Jiangsu Newco Law Firm, Prof. Liang Yunbao, Associate Prof. Liu Jianli and Associate Prof. Ji Yang of Law School of Southeast University as the members of the defense committee, and Ms. Wang Weiwei as the secretary of the defense committee. The defense team strictly followed the requirements of “Measures for Whole Process Management of Graduate Student Dissertation Quality in Southeast University School of Law”, “Measures for the Work of Graduate Student Dissertation Quality Guidance Team in Southeast University School of Law” and other normative documents, and other master's degree students of Criminal Law Group of Southeast University School of Law observed the defense meeting.

The defense lasted from 8:30 a.m. to about 13:00 p.m. on May 16th. In the defense, 19 students made detailed presentations on the thesis topic, research purpose, research content, research methodology, key difficulties and innovations of their respective theses. On this basis, the teachers of the defense committee put forward many targeted and constructive questions in the light of the thesis content and the students' statements, and the students answered them one by one carefully and meticulously.

In addition, at 4:30 p.m. on May 26, the dissertation defense of one master's degree student of Criminal Law Group of Class 2021 of the Law School of Southeast University was held in the conference room on the 5th floor of the Jiulong Lake Campus of Southeast University. The defense committee was composed of Xu Chang, Vice Dean of the Law School of Nanjing Audit University, as the chairman of the defense committee, Du Xuan, Prosecutor of Nanjing Municipal People's Procuratorate, Prof. Liang Yunbao and Associate Prof. Jiyang of the Law School of Southeast University as members of the defense committee, and Mr. Dong Guozhen as the secretary of the defense committee. The defense committee was formed in accordance with the law and regulations, and the presentation of the defense students, questions asked by the committee members and answers given by the students were smooth.

This year's Criminal Law Defense was well-organized, with standardized procedures and in good order. During the defense, the participating students were well-prepared, and their elaboration of the core ideas and innovations of the defense thesis was fluent and focused, which fully reflected the good knowledge reserve and professionalism of the Master of Criminal Law of the College. The defense committee was conscientious and responsible, and the questions raised by the defense students were focused and novel, and they made overall evaluation and detailed modifications to the dissertation. After full preparation and intense thinking, the defenders answered the questions raised by the defense committee one by one, recorded them immediately and revised them, striving to further improve and enhance the quality of the thesis. The 20 master's degree students of Criminal Law successfully completed the defense in a serious, tense and professional atmosphere.
