Our teacher Liu Jianli attended the 8th Sino-Japanese Criminal Law Seminar

On 17-18 August 2024, the 8th Sino-Japanese Criminal Law Seminar was successfully held in Kunming. The seminar was hosted by the Japan-China Society for Criminal Law Studies (Japan), the China-Japan Society for Criminal Law Studies (China), Yunnan University Law School, and co-organised by Yunnan Zhongji Law Firm. More than 100 criminal law researchers and practitioners from the University of Tokyo, Waseda University, Keio University, Chuo University, Seikei University, Tsinghua University, Peking University, Renmin University of China, China University of Political Science and Law, Southeast University and other universities, as well as Peking University Press, People's Publishing House and other units attended the seminar. Our associate professor Liu Jianli was invited to attend this meeting, on the ‘emergency risk’, ‘help offenders’, ‘extortion and blackmail’, ‘environmental crime ‘Environmental crime’ and other topics with the guests for in-depth discussion.

The Sino-Japanese Seminar on Criminal Law is the highest level international conference on criminal law in China, which started in 1988 and has been held for eighteen times after three stages of development, greatly promoting the exchange and development of criminal law between China and Japan. Our university is one of the main participants in this series of seminars, having hosted the third phase of the sixth (total 16th) Sino-Japanese Criminal Law Seminar in 2017.
