On the morning of September 29, 2024, the Jiangning District Foreign Legal Service High Quality Development and Construction Promotion Conference was successfully held in Jiangning, Nanjing. Guo Bing, a second level inspector of the Jiangsu Provincial Department of Justice, Xu Xiaojie, Deputy Secretary of the Party Group and Director of the Political Department of the Nanjing Municipal Bureau of Justice, Huang Chengwen, Deputy Secretary and District Chief of Jiangning District Committee, Pang Zhigui, Member of the Standing Committee of Jiangning District Committee and Secretary of the Political and Legal Affairs Committee, Sun Litao, Vice President of Southeast University, Ouyang Benqi, Dean of the Law School, Lu Lu, Director of the International and Comparative Law Research Center, and Yu Wenjie, Director of the Foreign Rule of Law Research Center, and other relevant personnel from the university attended the meeting.

At the event, Sun Litao, Vice President of Southeast University, and Huang Chengwen, Mayor of Jiangning District Government, signed the Cooperation Agreement on Collaborative Training of Foreign related Legal Talents in Jiangning District on behalf of both parties.

According to the agreement, the two sides will focus on the requirements of the national foreign-related rule of law strategy, the goals of provincial and municipal foreign-related rule of law construction, and the needs of Jiangning's opening up work. Relying on Southeast University's Jiangsu Province Foreign related Rule of Law Talent Collaborative Training Base, the two sides will adhere to the joint construction of government and university, deepen collaborative education, give play to the role of organizational incubation platform, practical practice platform, work exchange platform, and theoretical research platform, better realize the complementary advantages of practical departments and universities, focus on the training of compound, practical, and innovative foreign-related rule of law talents, and provide strong talent security and intellectual support for Jiangning District to expand high-level opening up, deepen the the Belt and Road legal service network, and create an international, legal, and market-oriented first-class business environment.

The signing of the cooperation agreement is a positive measure for Southeast University to deeply implement the decisions and deployments of the Party Central Committee and the State Council on accelerating the cultivation of foreign-related legal talents in the new era. Southeast University and its foreign-related rule of law research center will coordinate the integration of relevant interdisciplinary resources and actively carry out targeted interdisciplinary research and talent cultivation for the construction of foreign-related rule of law in the country and regions.
