The 2024 Annual Conference of the Civil Law Research Society of the China Law Society was held in Shanghai from 5 to 7 October. The conference was organised by the Civil Law Research Society of China Law Society, hosted by East China University of Political Science and Law, and co-organised by Shanghai Jintiancheng Law Firm. Professor Shan Pingji, Associate Dean of the School of Law, Associate Professor Wang Yuan, Postdoctoral Fellow Hou Manman, doctoral students Yan Yan, Dai Zhixuan, He Xinhang, Zhang Shengying, Zhao Chenxi, and master's student Lv Cheng attended the conference. The participants focused on ‘Basic Issues of Comprehensive Implementation of the Civil Code’, ‘Basic Theories of Civil Law and Implementation of the General Provisions of the Civil Code’, ‘Implementation of the Property Rights Section of the Civil Code’, ‘Implementation of the Civil Code’, ‘Implementation of the Property Rights Section of the Civil Code’, ‘Implementation of the Civil Code’, ‘Implementation of the Civil Code’, and ‘Implementation of the Civil Code’. ‘‘Implementation Issues of the Contract Part of the Civil Code’‘ “Implementation Issues of the Personality Rights, Marriage and Family, and Inheritance Parts of the Civil Code”’ ‘Implementation Issues of the Tort Liability Part of the Civil Code ‘‘Digital Jurisprudence and the Implementation of the Civil Code’’ 7 themes for a total of 21 units of thematic discussions.
Professor Shan Pingji, as a discussant, had an in-depth exchange and discussion with the reporters on the topics of land management right into shares and small adjustments of contracted land in the second round of extended contracting in the second unit of ‘Implementation Issues of the Property Rights Section of the Civil Code’.
Associate Professor Wang Yuan gave a report on the topic of ‘Scope of Application and Limitations of Personal Information Protection Law’ in the second module of ‘Implementation Problems of Personality Rights, Marriage and Family, and Inheritance of the Civil Code’.
Through this conference, teachers and students of the Law School had an in-depth communication with the delegates, which played an important role in improving the academic ability of teachers and students of the School and expanding the influence of the civil law discipline of the Law School.
