On January 16th, the Law School's 2024 Annual Summary and Commendation Conference and Alumni Work Development Conference were successfully held. Liu Qichuan, Secretary of the Party Committee, Xiong Zhanglin, Dean, Dan Pingji, Vice Dean, Chen Yun, Vice Secretary and Vice Dean, Ji Yang, Professor Meng Hongzhi, Professor Gong Xianghe, Professor Wang Lusheng, Professor Chen Hongbing, Professor Li Chuan, Professor Liang Yunbao and other law school teachers from Southeast University Law School, as well as retired teacher representatives such as Professor Song Tao, Professor Mao Huixi, Professor Wang Jinyuan, Professor Zhang Ning, Professor Hang Renchun, and alumni association representatives from all over the country attended the meeting.
Item 1: Year end Work Summary and Commendation
The year-end work summary and commendation will be presided over by Secretary Liu Qichuan. At the beginning of the meeting, Secretary Liu warmly welcomed the teachers and alumni present and briefly summarized the work of the Law School in 2024.
Dean Xiong Zhanglin delivered a speech at the meeting. Dean Xiong gave a special report on the development and various work of the Law School in 2024 from five aspects: faculty team, discipline construction, scientific research achievements, student training, and international cooperation, and expressed gratitude to the faculty and students for their dedicated work and dedication.
The leaders of each department, the director of the teaching and research office, the person in charge of the scientific research platform, and the chairman of the labor union will conduct performance evaluations on their work achievements and innovative points.
Vice Dean Dan Pingji summarized the undergraduate teaching work he is in charge of, focusing on aspects such as course quality, faculty, and talent cultivation, and pointed out the shortcomings of the current work.
Chen Yun, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and Vice Dean, gave a report on the development and achievements of student work, summarizing the work content in seven aspects including party and youth group building, community construction, and employment services.
Vice Dean Ji Yang reviewed and looked forward to the achievements of graduate teaching and research work under his jurisdiction.
In the section where the head of the teaching and research department reported on their work, the heads of six teaching and research departments, including Legal History, Constitutional Law and Administrative Law, Civil and Commercial Law, Criminal Law, International Law, and Engineering Law, respectively, gave summary reports. Teacher Miao Zeyi, Teacher Chen Daoying, Teacher Ren Danli, Teacher Liang Yunbao, Teacher Ye Quan, and Teacher Zhang Malin systematically reviewed the research achievements and teaching work of each teaching and research department, summarized the shortcomings of existing work, and clarified the direction of the next stage of work.
During the work report session of the person in charge of the scientific research platform, Professor Gong Xianghe, Executive Dean of the Human Rights Research Institute, and Professor Yang Jie, Executive Director of the Judicial Big Data Research Base of the Supreme People's Court, respectively summarized the construction work and research results of the scientific research base, and pointed out that they will further strengthen scientific research construction, produce advanced achievements, and enhance academic influence.
During the work report session of the union chairman, Teacher Liu Jianli pointed out that in the past year, the union has played a service role in cultural and sports activities, humanistic care, and proposal making, fully participating in college construction and promoting democratic supervision. In the next year, the union will continue to optimize its work and do a good job in protecting rights and interests.
At the award ceremony, teachers who have won honors such as the Annual Outstanding Contribution Award, the Annual Advanced Enrollment Work Award, and the Annual Excellent Assessment Award were presented with awards. Liu Lianjun, Wang Lusheng, Xiong Zhanglin, Zhang Yue, and Ji Yang were awarded the Outstanding Contribution Award of the Year.
Teacher Mao Huixi won the outstanding contribution award for enrollment work, and teacher Chang Tengyuan, Liu Jianli, Wang Xinyu and Chen Huichao won the exemplary individual award for enrollment work.
Liu Lianjun, Gong Xianghe, Wan Wanhui, Zhang Yue, Yu Wenjie, Qian Xiaoping, Liu Jianli, Xu Minchuan, Feng Yuqing, Xing Chenxi, Bi Wenxuan, and Bi Sheng were awarded as excellent teachers in the annual assessment of full-time teachers. Dong Guozhen and Wang Weiwei were awarded as excellent teachers in the annual assessment of administrative personnel.
Teacher Chen Yun was awarded the Outstanding Leadership Award of the Year.
Teacher Ouyang Benqi was awarded the Outstanding Achievement Award for the construction of the Southeast Law Journal, and Teacher Wan Qianhui was awarded the Annual Dedication Award for the construction of the Southeast Law Journal.
Song Shichao, Wu Dongxing, Gong Shanyao, and Wang Yuan were awarded the Annual Academic Newcomer Award.
Infantry, Zhang Xuelian, Feng Yuqing, Liu Jianli, and Ren Danli were awarded the Annual Education and Teaching Model, while Yu Lishen and Miao Zeyi were awarded the Annual Education and Teaching Contribution Award.
The digital law team won the Best Innovation Team Award of the Year.
The Jiangsu Provincial Local Legislation Research Base and the Transportation Rule of Law and Development Research Center won the Annual Best Think Tank Service Award.
Jiangsu Zhibang Law Firm, Jiangsu Liansheng Law Firm, Jiangsu Longpan Law Firm, and Beijing Tianda Gonghe (Nanjing) Law Firm have been awarded as units of love and dedication.
Teacher Gao Ge was awarded the honorary title of Alumni Goodwill Ambassador of the year.
The Legal Branch of Guangdong Alumni Association and the Legal Branch of Lianyungang Alumni Association were commended by the Alumni Association.
Item 2: Retirement Ceremony and Establishment Ceremony of Retired Faculty Party Branch
The retirement ceremony and the establishment ceremony of the retired faculty party branch were presided over by Professor Chen Yun, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and Vice President of the college.
During the retirement ceremony, a congratulatory video recorded by the faculty and students of the college for Professor Hang Renchun was played on site. The teachers and students expressed their respect and gratitude to Professor Hang Renchun for his work in teaching, scientific research, and daily life, and wished him a happy retirement and good health. Secretary Chen read out a dedication on behalf of all teachers and students in the school, and Dean Xiong presented a retirement certificate and flowers to Teacher Hang Renchun.
Finally, Teacher Hang Renchun gave a speech. Professor Hang Renchun reviewed the development history of the Law Department and School of Southeast University, expressing gratitude to the faculty and students of the school and blessings for its development.
At the ceremony for the establishment of the retired faculty party branch, first, Professor Liu Qichuan, the secretary of the college party committee, read out the resolution to establish the retired faculty party branch of the Law School.
Teacher Mao Huixi and Secretary Liu jointly unveiled the plaque for the retired faculty party branch.
Retired teacher Party branch secretary Mao Huixi gave a speech. Teacher Mao Huixi stated that the work of the retired faculty member party branch is a new starting point, and he hopes that retired faculty members can continue to contribute to the work of the college.
Item 3: Alumni Work Development Conference
The alumni work development conference was chaired by Professor Gao Ge, the director of the Alumni Work Committee of the Law School. He stated that in the new year, he will continue to promote alumni work, continuously support and promote the construction of the college and platform, and do a good job in close cooperation and liaison with alumni.
At the conference, alumni representatives from all over the country shared their feelings and expectations. Zhou Yang, representative of the Legal Branch of the Xuzhou Alumni Association, expressed his gratitude to the college for its support in alumni work. The college has achieved great success in its development work, and as an alumnus, he will return to his post to continue supporting the college's work; Cao Haibing, representative of the Legal Branch of Lianyungang Alumni Association, expressed gratitude to the college for its concern for alumni. The college has long supported alumni work, and alumni associations have been established in various regions. He looks forward to the continued development of legal branches of alumni associations in various regions. Zhang Mingyue, representative of the Legal Branch of the Nanjing Alumni Association, stated that the college has continuously produced achievements in recent years and wishes the Law School of Southeast University to continue to improve; Zhao Hailong, representative of the Legal Branch of the Beijing Alumni Association, stated that he will continue to develop alumni solidarity and utilize the power of alumni to provide feedback to the school; Cai Weizhuan, representative of the Law Branch (preparatory) of Zhejiang Alumni Association, expressed that he felt very warm and friendly when he returned to the college, and wished Southeast Law to thrive; Sun Jian, the representative of the Law Branch (preparatory) of Changzhou Alumni Association, said that the time during his studies was very unforgettable. He hopes that the alumni association will be successfully established and wishes the college to become better and better. The attending alumni expressed their gratitude and memories towards the Law School of Southeast University, as well as their outlook on alumni work, further strengthening the close connection between the school and the alumni, and providing strong support for the future development of the school's work.
The Law Branch of Lianyungang Alumni Association presented calligraphy and painting works to the Law School, expressing their blessings for the work of the school. The calligraphy and painting carry the gratitude and respect of alumni for the cultivation of the college, and also wish the college to continue writing brilliant chapters in the new year.
At the end of the meeting, Secretary Liu made a summary of the meeting. Secretary Liu expresses sincere gratitude to all teachers and students, and on behalf of the college party committee, wishes all teachers and alumni a happy Chinese New Year and good luck in the Year of the Snake!
The 2024 Annual Summary and Commendation Conference and Alumni Work Development Conference of Southeast University Law School have come to a successful conclusion. This meeting comprehensively summarized the discipline construction, scientific research achievements, talent cultivation, and faculty construction of Southeast University Law School over the past year, reviewed the experience and achievements, analyzed the development focus and direction, and further strengthened the communication bridge between the school and alumni.
