The New Semester Work Exchange Symposium of Various Teaching and Research Departments of Southeast University Law School Was Successfully Held

In order to promote the successful conclusion of the "14th Five Year Plan" for educational development and lay a solid foundation for the planning and layout of the "15th Five Year Plan", from February 19th to 27th, the Law School of Southeast University organized all teaching and research offices to hold a new semester work exchange symposium, widely listening to the opinions and suggestions of all teachers in the school on the development plans of various undertakings. Xiong Zhanglin, Dean of the Law School, Dan Pingji, Vice Dean, Chen Yun, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and Vice Dean, Ji Yang, Vice Dean, Xu Minchuan, Assistant Dean, Yu Tao, and all teachers from various teaching and research departments attended the meeting. The symposiums of each teaching and research department are chaired by Dean Xiong Zhanglin.


The new semester work exchange symposium of the Legal Teaching and Research Office was held on February 19th. Teacher Miao Zeyi, the director of the teaching and research department, first summarized and provided feedback on the overall situation of the department in terms of faculty strength, curriculum teaching, and scientific research development. Teacher Yang Chunfu pointed out the existing problems in the undergraduate curriculum and the diversion stage of the Bingwen class, proposed suggestions for possible improvement directions, and sparked extensive discussion. Teachers such as Hu Chaoyang, Liu Hong, Zheng Yinghui, Bi Sheng, and Wu Dongxing discussed the difficult issues in current scientific research and teaching and put forward corresponding suggestions.


The New Semester Work Exchange Symposium of the Civil and Commercial Teaching and Research Office was held on February 20th. Teacher Ren Danli, the director of the teaching and research department, reported on the overall situation of the department. Teacher Gao Ge raised the issue of insufficient teaching staff in the current teaching and research department, and proposed improvement suggestions for future curriculum design, teaching positioning, and other aspects. Teachers such as Gao Xiang, Wang Yuan, Liu Yifan, Bi Wenxuan, and Song Shichao provided suggestions on current journal accreditation, minor course offerings, and second degree accreditation, and conducted in-depth discussions on common issues encountered in their work.


The new semester work exchange symposium of the Engineering Law Teaching and Research Office was held on February 20th. Ms. Xing Chenxi, the director of the teaching and research department, first reported on the development status of the department in terms of team building, student cultivation, teaching and research. Teacher Zhang Malin pointed out the difficulties and urgent areas for improvement in talent cultivation in the field of engineering law. Teachers such as Wang Weiling, Chang Tengyuan, and Zhang Yunhao exchanged their plans and ideas on undergraduate course teaching, graduate thesis topic selection and defense, and scientific research development.


The International Law Teaching and Research Office held a work exchange symposium for the new semester on February 21st. Teacher Ye Quan, the director of the teaching and research department, systematically introduced the overall situation of the department from the aspects of faculty structure, curriculum construction, and scientific research achievements. Teacher Lu Lu focuses on team development issues, analyzes the difficulties faced by international law teams in resource integration and external support, and calls for optimizing safeguard mechanisms. Teacher Yibo and Teacher Dai Qingkang emphasized the need to further broaden the international perspective of teachers and students, encourage and guide students to intern and practice in international organizations, and build more international cooperation platforms. Teachers such as Yu Wenjie, Yu Tao, and Zhang Yue pointed out the shortcomings of scientific research teams in interdisciplinary collaboration and achievement transformation based on their current work, and proposed to further strengthen team building.


The New Semester Work Exchange Symposium of the Criminal Law Teaching and Research Office was held on February 25th. Professor Liang Yunbao, the director of the teaching and research department, systematically introduced the overall situation of the department from the aspects of faculty, teaching and research, and base construction, and raised issues such as insufficient teaching staff in related fields. Teacher Li Chuan and Teacher Qian Xiaoping proposed to accelerate the construction of relevant bases for criminal law research and continue to promote the deep integration of criminal law theory research and criminal prosecution practice. Teacher Liu Jianli pointed out that the teaching and research department should follow the direction of international development, and put forward suggestions for the development of medical law from the perspective of interdisciplinary studies. Yang Zhiqiong, He Yingxin and other teachers put forward suggestions on the current development of scientific research and classroom teaching, and discussed the difficulties and problems encountered in their work.


The new semester work exchange symposium of the Constitutional Teaching and Research Office was held on February 27th. Teacher Yang Jie introduced the construction of the Party branch, curriculum design, teaching and research, and talent cultivation in the teaching and research department. Teacher Liu Lianjun summarized the current situation of curriculum establishment, practical promotion, and student training in the constitutional direction, and pointed out the need to further promote the development of scientific research and innovation, classroom teaching, talent introduction, and other work in the constitutional direction. Professor Yang Dengfeng raised the existing problems in the research work of doctoral students and put forward suggestions from the aspects of characteristic courses for graduate students and student training. Meng Hongzhi, Gong Xianghe, Yu Lishen, Li Yuxing and other teachers had in-depth discussions on innovative teaching methods, changes in research directions, and the future development direction of the college.


At the new semester work exchange symposium, various teaching and research departments conducted in-depth discussions on subject construction, teaching quality improvement, scientific research innovation, talent cultivation, international exchange and cooperation, and other aspects. The teachers actively spoke up and, based on their own teaching and research experience, conducted a comprehensive analysis of the current development status of the college, and put forward many constructive opinions and suggestions.


Dean Xiong Zhanglin fully affirmed the achievements of each teaching and research department, responded to the questions raised by the teachers one by one, and encouraged them to make more attempts in consolidating the foundation, shaping characteristics, exploring innovation, and promoting the development of disciplines from a higher perspective. Vice Dean Dan Pingji emphasized that teaching quality is the lifeline of the development of the college. The college will implement and continuously improve the suggestions put forward by teachers regarding undergraduate teaching. Deputy Secretary Chen Yun hopes that all teaching and research departments will closely monitor the ideological dynamics and academic research progress of students, collaborate with the student office to assist in the comprehensive development of each student, and strive for greater breakthroughs in student work during the 15th Five Year Plan period. Vice Dean Jiyang stated that the college will carefully study and implement the suggestions of the teachers, and provide higher quality services for all faculty and students in scientific research and graduate training. Assistant Dean Xu Minchuan and Yu Tao expressed that they will carefully sort out and absorb the suggestions of the teachers to further improve the education and teaching work.


Finally, Dean Xiong Zhanglin pointed out that 2025 is the year when the 14th Five Year Plan comes to an end, and also the year when the 15th Five Year Plan is laid out. The college will take this symposium as an opportunity to carefully summarize the opinions and suggestions of the teachers, formulate more scientific and reasonable development plans, and promote the college's various undertakings to constantly reach new heights.
