On 10 April, the inauguration ceremony and construction symposium of the Expert Committee of the Southeast University Urban Parking Information Cloud Platform Laboratory was held in the East Hall of Liyuan Hotel. Experts from academia, industry, and government regulatory authorities gathered to discuss the theme of ‘Innovative Digital Governance Solutions for Urban Parking Challenges.’
At the beginning of the meeting, Chen Yun, Deputy Party Secretary of the Law School of Southeast University, Gu Daxiong, Co-Director of the Laboratory, and the attending experts jointly unveiled the plaque for the Expert Committee of the Southeast University Urban Parking Information Cloud Platform Laboratory and took a group photo.
Chen Yun, Deputy Party Secretary of the Law School of Southeast University, delivered a speech and read out the approval from the Law School of Southeast University regarding the establishment of the Expert Committee of the Southeast University Urban Parking Information Cloud Platform Laboratory. Chen Yun pointed out that as the first research institution in China specialising in urban parking cloud platforms, the laboratory is supported by interdisciplinary research in transportation and law, leveraging parking information technology to explore digital governance innovations for urban parking challenges. This has effectively promoted the coordinated governance of dynamic and static traffic, policy optimisation, and industrial development. She also outlined the functional定位 and development objectives of the Urban Parking Information Cloud Platform Laboratory.
Subsequently, Deputy Secretary Chen Yun announced the list of appointed experts and presented appointment certificates.
Associate Professor Gu Daxiong, Co-Director of the Laboratory, provided a specialised introduction to the laboratory's basic situation, team composition, core achievements, core business directions, and value-added service products, proposing core business content such as data product development, index release, policy consultation, exchange platforms, and group standards.
Following the appointment ceremony, the experts in attendance engaged in a special discussion on challenges in urban parking governance. Appointed expert committee members, including Cheng Shidong, Director of the Urban Centre at the Comprehensive Transportation Research Institute of the National Development and Reform Commission; Sun Xiaobo, President of the Hubei Province Parking Industry Association; Li Dundun from Jiangnan Ai Parking Company; and Cao Jun, Lecturer at the School of Geography, Surveying, and Urban and Rural Planning at Jiangsu Normal University, exchanged views on policy interpretation, laboratory development directions, practical implementation, and specific areas such as data development and shared two-wheeled vehicles.
After the experts concluded their remarks, Liu Guoqiang, Director of the Laboratory's Expert Committee, delivered a summary speech.
It is reported that the Southeast University Urban Parking Information Cloud Platform Laboratory, as the first research institution in China specialising in urban parking cloud platforms, has undertaken over 20 national-level research projects, published over 100 papers, obtained six authorised invention patents, and won two first-class provincial and ministerial-level science and technology progress awards since its establishment in 2016 under the leadership of Associate Professor Gu Daxiong and Professor Chen Jun, relying on two A-class disciplines: transportation planning and law. It is believed that through the collaborative research efforts of the laboratory's research team and expert committee members, the laboratory will provide robust technical support and theoretical guidance for urban governance.
